Welcome to the Deadbeat Artist challenge, part 2 of the Drifter Challenge.
This time we will be concentrating on Oceana Taffeta, firstborn of Blueberry and Oster.
In this challenge you get your reward up front. A school. I am sooo glad I didn’t roll that in the last challenge!
They moved across town and only brought two chew toys for Empress. She did get a sleeping bag and fire pit.
Oh! The baby is here!
Why could I not get any of the others with a good mix like this? Bah.
One look at her furnishings and Oceana knew it was time to get busy.
She tried her hand at fishing.
While Empress searched out collectibles.
Oceana: Mom, I just left the house. Can you wait a few days before calling again?
Blueberry: But we miss you and want you to come over.
Oceana: Some other time, mom. Empress needs food and shelter first, and so do I.
Oceana was able to bring both Empress and all the reward objects with her. I can tell you right now, that it makes this a lot easier than when we started off empty-handed with Blueberry. She has the collection helper, motive mobile and moodlet manager, which means she never sleeps (and neither does Empress) and just collects for the first few days. It was quickly discovered that Oceana does not like fishing.
Empress is queued up with four or five dig spots around town, but she is intent on walking 200 miles to be startled. We’ll check back in with her later.
Empress found a $3,300 gigantic space rock. In the holiday spirit, we gear her up for Christmastime.
Oceana has slightly increased her home to include these four walls, a door, tub, toilet and easel.
We left Patches on the floor of her parents’ house, but lo and behold, he would not stay there. I guess it will be nice to have someone for her to talk to.
Note: He didn’t even last a day. Too annoying and is safely tucked back in her inventory ready to be deleted when I think about it next.
Oceana: Mom, you don’t have to call every. single. day.
Blueberry: But you moved so far away and we never see or hear from you!
Blueberry’s house. It’s not quite visible from one house to the other because of the trees along the river, but otherwise, they could send smoke signals.
Empress and her bad habits continue. She insists on guarding her dish.
We love our tablet. She can listen to a writing tabcast while painting, and a painting tabcast while writing (well, she could if she had a computer).
Oceana: Oh c’mon, mother. This is getting annoying.
Blueberry: But I miss you!
Oceana: How? You call every day and everywhere I go, there you are. There hasn’t been enough space between us to miss each other.
Oceana was there to join the self-employed painter career and ran into her whole family.
Oceana: Not you too!
Oster: It’s just not the same without your fairy pranks in the sink!
Oster: YOU! I knew Pistachio didn’t fly away like your mother insisted!
Oceana: If the four of you are here, where are the three toddlers?
Back home again, it’s time for another round of painting.
Make something impressive please.
This brought in a whopping $14,865. Besides three of the Palladium, this was all Empress. She is level 8 in hunting now.
Humans may not be able to use life potions, but I didn’t see anything about pets. I want to breed Empress, but she was going to be an elder the next day. I was actually saving for the bottomless food dish, but we spent all her points on this instead.
Short house tour.
She wanted the table tennis and we needed the points for her MLC reward, so she pretty much gets whatever she wants within reason. I did forget the tub and toilet, but that was quickly added. She was left with $17.
After unpausing, all her appliance wants completed and she got her reward. We only kept her Artistic trait. Why dislikes children? Because the deadbeat portion of our challenge is for the four kids she must have. This is going to be so hard for me. Want me to kill sims, fine. Fight, stab, trick, deceive. I can do that. But ignore toddlers? Omg. I pride myself on always training every single one that comes into being. I even have a skill stamp for toddlers around towns to make sure they don’t piss themselves in elementary school.
Empress wonders why she never had a ball before. She loves this thing.
Oh and the lot did not have a trash or mailbox. I had to go into buydebug and buy them to send off her metals a few days prior.
She wrote her first book, but now Empress needs attention.
They both want to be best friends with each other, so we get that done.
Oceana: Empress, please wait until I’m out.
I sent her manhunting, but I forgot that I had turned SP off while the Taffeta kids were growing up.
We saw several old people from the evicted families, but they were starting to die off. I think his parents were the first ones. He’s a cutie after giving him hair and eyebrows. Oceana was forced to go make his acquaintance.
Well this is helpful. I got lucky that her parents started the challenge together. Because befriending sims is not the most fun way to spend 12+ hours.
ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Well, that disproves my declaration that quartz does not exist. Thanks, Empress. Thanks you so much.
Back to our humans.
Oceana: I got this gift just for you!
Randall: I don’t think so. I barely know you.
Oceana: Fine, be that way. I’ll just put my tomato back in my pocket.
They chucked water balloons at each other for a bit, and then I clicked on the home lot and said “go here with” and they got in the motive mobile, upping both sims’ stats.
Contrary to the person person –, these two have finally gotten up to the friend stage. We spam him with friendly interactions, and he moves in.
I couldn’t remember if we could keep spousal money or not, but that amount was unreal. We famiyfunded every cent he brought in away. This leaves them with what she had before: $4,558.
Empress and her special finds. She finally got to reconstruct her hydrant. She has two pieces of a mini dinosaur skeleton, two pieces of the diamond dog, and one fragment of Our Friend Fred.
Randall subsequently had three books, a university degree plaque (in business) and his camera in his inventory. The books were set on the ground for reading, but they disappeared. I reset the lot, but no luck retrieving them. I was bummed because they were all worth four digits.
Speaking of Randall, after putting up wallpaper and siding, we got a pic of him checking out the new windows too.
Virtuoso, genius, athletic, daredevil, klepto, and friendly. He wants a Perfect Mind, Perfect Body. I am pretty sure he could do that on his own, given enough time, but I probably won’t even pay much attention to him after this. As soon as we recoup some money, I will buy him a chess set, tablet, and something for his athletic skill. With not much to choose from, the game apparently decided we needed this guy in politics. He does have three skill points in painting, so we might need to block the easel off.
***This update is kind of half-assed. I ended up going down for two days with a migraine at this point***
They continue to be just adorable. I have turned SP back on at this point.
Which means that these two were having their first flirt and I missed it.
I do believe this was an amorous hug that I got the tail end of.
The SP pop ups are annoying. I might have to turn it back off.
Randall keeps occupied by reading Oceana’s completed books.
Already? I need to get updated pics of Polly and Ambrose then. They have to be close to teens at this point.
For his genius trait, Randall receives a chess set.
Empress guards her dish while Oceana writes. Randall is off to check out more of his new items.
Oceana busts the computer thinking she would get out of writing. I proved how wrong she was.
I’m leaving off here. More painting, collecting and writing next time. Oh and we have age ups to check in on too.
Of note: Before the migraine, I started the Sims 4 version, but we all know how much I hate that game with a fiery ball of intense feelings. I might post it up, but I am not sure if I can stick through it without chucking the shit out the window.
