I thought I would stick a quick challenge here while we are between houses. I’m trying the Snow White and Seven Dwarves challenge. It actually looks like fun, if not nerve wracking and maybe a little bit insane. Also, this is one very, very long post. Sorry about that.
Our Snow White is actually Lace Moonglow. Traits: Neat, Family Oriented and Creative.
The seven “dwarves” consist of Cherry, who is silly.
Dill – Angelic
Rose – Fussy
Azure – Inquisitive
Honey – Wild
Cinder – Independent
Iris – Charmer
The goal is to become good friends with each toddler and teach them to potty. We are going for potty level 3 on the normal life span.
As per my usual, I slapped a bunch of rooms from the gallery together to form a house-like structure. Lace has $2,600 left over, which bought the hallway and easel. A few things will get added in, but this has everything they need.
There will be no finesse with these pics. The little buggers are wily and I need to keep my walls down to keep them in sight.
Cherry is the first one to gain the potty skill.
The welcome committee just stood around like creepers over the kids. I had each one talk to the strangers. My hope was to be able to invite over people to get them attention when it got low.
Yeah, right. We find out pretty fast that phone calls are a luxury Lace can’t take time out for.
Cherry reaches potty 2 and no longer requires assistance. One down, six to go.
I will have seven smelly toddlers before I realize the bathroom only has a shower. When you have toddlers going around crapping themselves for entertainment, a tub is a requirement.
Cherry had 0 fun after spending the first day going potty, so the toilet is a great place to build it back up.
Taking pictures takes a backseat now. Dill can go potty by himself now too.
Dinnertime! The menu consists of grilled cheese tonight.
The yellow shoes tell me that Honey had a really low attention/fun and was at the “very angry” stage. She threw a fit when Lace asked to play. Then she threw a tantrum and begged to be played with. All the others are asleep.
End of Day 1. At this point, I’m still thinking this is fun and easy.
Day 2 starts at 4am when Lace decides to make breakfast. The kids will start waking up soon, and she’s pretty sure a couple will be hungry.
She finds out pretty quickly that Cinder missed dinner and wakes up red from hunger. All seven have their very own green fume clouds.
A very perky Lace starts bathing toddlers. How hard can that be?
Woo! Bathtime fun with Cherry was very productive.
Lace is having some hunger issues and starts on dinner.
The last bath is given at 9pm. The sad part is that the first one was at 6am. Each child (with one exception) got a bath and a potty. The exception is that Rose fell through the cracks. I’m not sure she was even given a bath at this point.
Cherry and Dill have slept the day away for some strange reason.
No less than 900 nightmares later, Lace puts on a fake smile and starts breakfast. Iris is being adorable watching mommy.
Lace and Iris become good friends during potty time and can now go on her own.
2 down, 5 to go.
Oh, it’s this day that Cherry and Dill sleep all day. Four hangry toddlers crying or throwing fits (Honey).
Cinder makes it 3/7.
The potty area is the hallway, so even if we wanted to invite people over, we couldn’t. Visitors can’t be in the same room with toddlers going potty. Also, the area is actually cleaner than usual.
4/7. At this point, I have the challenge in the bag.
The toddlers are being corralled on their beds listening to nursery rhymes. Dill is STILL asleep. I think he’s depressed or something.
Cherry is off to the left being babbled at by the (always) angry Honey. That girl drives me crazy.
Lace seems to like her though. 5/7
Lace has given up trying keep up with the cleaning. That painting will never get completed, but we only have two more toddlers to become good friends with.
Lace started giving baths right before bedtime and only to the ones who had 0 attention on their bars.
She managed to clean up the plates, but gave up on the potties. At least they’re all in one area for once.
Rose is the newest good friend. I was surprised by this because I never notice her. She is very quiet and is never anywhere.
She is so unnoticeable, that this came as a shock. I could have sworn she got to go potty once before.
Rose wanted to be more memorable and become the first toddler fail.
Cherry is officially potty trained and at good friend status with mommy. She will be sent off to skill other things now.
The long hours are taking a toll. The house is filthy, Lace is miserable and all the toddlers smell again.
I better feed her and let her sleep. She’s been run ragged by these kids.
Food got made, but not eaten. She had to take a nap first.
Cherry and Rose eat at 4am. Rose finally makes it to bed and Cherry heads outside to watch toddler videos.
It’s actual morning time now. Lace wakes up and takes out the garbage and cleans all the potties while Azure, Dill and Honey eat breakfast. Cherry heads to bed.
With breakfast in hand, Lace is all smiles this morning.
Lace cleans the previous days dishes while the three awake play musical potties hoping to get that last skill done today while they are still happy.
Pancakes are made for breakfast after the house was clean. The toddlers were a little upset about overflowing potties, but that’s not enough to let them stop going.
By noon, Dill, is done. He has free time for the rest of his toddler days.
Honey snuck off to go play when Lace was cleaning out potties and mopping the floor. She got half a skill bar filled, so she can slack off for a while.
It’s almost 2pm. Cinder and Iris go take their turns on the potty, but Rose still needs help.
Dill, Azure and Honey are now outside doing stuff. Azure is in dire need of a bath, I see.
Finally! All kids can now potty on their own, which gives Lace more time to spend with each toddler for bathing or just fun.
The pancakes that no one ate for breakfast, are being consumed at 4pm. Schedules are shot to shit. Cherry had to be woken up with the hope that she does not stay awake all night again,
Lace sneaks in a quick nap. The goal for her tonight is to get several dishes made in advance. I wish her skill was higher, but at least we got the Homey lot trait, which should help her skill.
The kids are being very good while mommy sleeps.
Rose is finally eating and Cherry tells Dill about a dinosaur dream she had.
Meanwhile, Iris is telling Azure that he smells disgusting.
Cinder heads to the dollhouse and Honey was very angry at being exhausted, so she is sent to bed.
Lace had turned yellow, so I went to see what was wrong. She wasn’t in her bed. I found her hiding outside doing situps. I guess that nap was very energizing. Good thing, because Azure must have a bath.
That bath was just what these two needed.
She is now Good Friends with all seven toddlers!
It’s 11pm. Lace got the house all cleaned up and everyone is asleep and at the same time! Woo!
Thursday morning! Lace wakes up and has breakfast before the kids get up. During the quiet time, I check each toddler and see what they need and get Lace ready for her day.
Cinder
Azure
Rose
Dill
Iris
Honey
Cherry.
Nothing seriously pressing. Cinder, Cherry and Iris are woken up so they can get food/go potty. Then it will be bath time.
Cherry came in to chat with Iris, who was finally getting her bath.
Her and Dill become good friends later on.
Thursday: 11:15 am
12:42pm
2:17pm
3:53pm
Other stuff that happened Thursday
It was a really easy day, with the exception of all the potty cleaning and mopping.
By 7pm, they were all asleep (Dill being the last one).
By 8:30, the house is cleaned.
Lace then leaves the lot for the very first time. She still has $1,100 from the move in money, but at least she can get out and away from the kids for a little bit.
It also gets here away from dealing with nightmares. I find them stupid. I have three kids (the youngest being 13 next month) and not a single one had nightmares four times a night (looks at Rose).
It’s 10pm. Everyone has had nightmares. Plus they were hungry, so dinner was served.
I finally convinced Lace to go home.
Rose: Nightmare #2
Rose Nightmare #3. 2nd for Iris.
Nightmare #4. She has to cry and wake up her siblings because I locked Lace’s door so she could finally get sleep.
She pissed me off enough that she is queued up for five potties in a row.
Several hours later, the challenge is done! It’s Friday at 9:04 am. The age bar says 2 days left until their birthdays.
Shit, I lied.
Rose is unhappy that mommy locked her door and they are back down to only friends. I’m not sure why Lace gets along so much better with the others.
Angry toddler meets starving mother in the bathroom for fun bath times.
I had to laugh. Rose was hungry after her bath and I chose the “give food from inventory” option. I could have gave her flowers to eat, but I chose a mushroom.
Cherry came in and demanded a bath, which means that Rose gets to escape. I was hoping to get Lace to play with her long enough to increase the relationship, but maybe later.
She’s so cute. Too bad her attitude didn’t match. I’m not a fan of the fussy baby. Lace expressed her love and then asked Rose to play.
..and that’s it!
It is now Friday at 4:18pm.
Completed challenge dance party!
And then I saw it.
Friendship earned by dancing!
Two hours of dancing maxed all the bars! If I had known that, they would have had one hour dance parties everyday.
Now, we just have fun for two days until they age up. Woo!
Random shots:
Movement skill walk through town.
Turn at the tree.
7 angry poops
5 temper tantrums
Garlic Noodles for everyone.
No birthdays until everyone’s thinking skill hits 3.
Birthday Announcement.
Don’t have birthdays until you tally up the skill points like me and have to go to an older save and repeat two days.
Somebody stole the cake before Lace could put candles on it.

Sigh…she couldn’t stay up long enough for ending pics.
What a fun challenge!
Random facts: Never used a single reward point, never hired a Maid or cook, never invited anyone over and never ate an apple.
Wow, you did so much better than I did lol. I’m about 4 days through with I think 4 good friends, and only one at potty 1. Great pics! Congrats on finishing!
I’m used to running 15+ households in Sims 2 and 3. LOL This was a great challenge. The toddlers can do so much by themselves, including going potty. Just focus on one child at a time. Have them meet you wherever you want to go so you don’t spend too much time walking around. It’s basically time management. The toddlers can socialize with each other, which helps their communication skill and their attention bars pretty decent. Don’t be afraid to chain a toddler to a potty. As long as they are green across all bars, I queue them up to go repeatedly.
Wow! I don’t even like controlling 3 or 4 lol. Thank you for the tips!
I loved seeing/reading your challenge! I goofed on the points possible in the skill section. I’ll change that now. I’m impressed with the skill level of each toddler. Well done!
Oh okay. I really thought I was tallying the points wrong. lol It was such a fun challenge! There are so many ways for them to get skill points. Plus, Lace bought 7 tablets right at the beginning before spending on the house. I would definitely do this again and make a toddler bathroom with 7 potties, that’s for sure. That hallway was a disgusting mess. XD
I’m glad you had fun with it. I was also surprised to learn that you can gain friendship points by having a dance party. I think I’ll place that in the tips area.
OMG, this is brilliant! I’m going to have to try this out now, opened TS4 for the first time last night, and having a ball with the toddlers. I have done a similar challenge in TS3, which is a nightmare if you don’t use the swing/playpen/walker.
I love all their different personalities, so much fun! Good idea using different colours for each one, I imagine it was hard to keep track of all the babies.
haha, yes, it did get confusing. I named them after each color they represented, so that helped a whole bunch. I would love to have my walker and playpen! It’s really cool that the toddlers will ask for what they want. Lace potty trained a couple on her own because they asked. I haven’t opened up Sims 2 or 3 since we got toddlers. They are a blast!
